During a light shower the other day, I stepped outside, sure I would get to see a rainbow, because the sun was still shining. I didn't see the rainbow, but I managed to capture the rain drops and I did get this reflection ! As a bonus, there was a little flying insect on the gazing ball.

You put your whole self in....
You put your whole self out...
You put your whole self in...
And then you shake it all about....
You do the Hokey Pokey and you turn yourself about...
And that, my sons, is what drives the ladies wild!

Last weekend I had the pleasure of working the booth for our photo club at the American Camellia Winter Festival. One of the perks was the ability to slip into the room where the blooms were displayed and photograph them. I didn't know there were so many different kinds of camellias! I didn't try to edit out the cards that were in front of and behind the blooms...I think the beauty of the blooms carries the day!

I see this same set of trees every month, at least once...they aren't always this eye-stopping...
If you look closely, the trees just to the right of center are loaded with egrets...
The evening light was also beautifully reflected in the still water, along with some contrails...

Dewy mornings...perfect for capturing droplets of water on my rosebush leaves...
Even plants that no one loves are more beautiful in the dew...
And then there are those delightful feathery fronds...
Water drops on Lamb's Ear
And finally, my personal favorites...spider webs!
Nature is so beautiful, viewed close-up!

This little finch was enjoying a meal at our feeder last summer.
These two were spotted on Sanibel Island, Florida. This one was in the J.L.Ding Darling Wildlife Refuge. He is a juvenile Yellow-Crowned Night Heron. Very intent on lunch at this moment!
This pelican was waiting for the fisherman who belonged to this rod...just waiting for him to catch something! They are very quick and you have to watch them closely. They will grab the fish you catch before you can get it off the hook! When we were fishing in Key West, we encountered several of these birds st the local fishing spot. They know they can probably snatch lunch there!
This little bird was perched on top of the flagpole one morning in Florida. It was singing and chirping for over 30 minutes from that lofty perch!
I am not sure of the type of bird - I suspected some type of sparrow because of the song, but I couldn't get close enough and she refused to give me a full front view! Every time I walked around the pole to try to get a better look, she turned too.
