Spring Has Sprung!

For once, Mama Kat's Writer's Workshop was an easy one for me.  Not necessarily a good thing for me, because it doesn't require me to stretch my abilities as a writer...but nonetheless, a favorite subject!  The prompt was this:
2.) Has Spring sprung? Post a photo journal of what Spring is looking like in your neck of the woods!

Since I spend so much time photographing my flowers and buds, I thought I would share a daily walk 'round the yard!

Hens and chicks
Leopard plant

Dianthus

Amaryllis

Hydrangea ready to bloom

Ice Plant

Sedum in bloom
I have so many more photos - the Hosta are growing almost while I watch...the Huechera Coral Bells is back for the 4th year, my bearded Iris and Japanese Iris are in bloom.  My King Edward Yarrow is standing tall, the Ageratum is spreading its soft leaves and the Daisies are spilling out over the lawn.  I have some plants whose names I can not remember and of course, my roses.  Every year I say no more flowers, and then I stop at Lowes or Home Depot and find something I cannot live without.  I am addicted to things that grow in the dirt...hope you enjoyed the walk around my yard!

I chose the same prompt! Watching my 10-month-old grandson didn't leave me with much writing time, so I wandered out in the woods with my camera. Love your flowers! I also have hosta. They're the only ones that love all the shade around here!

oooh, I love garden pics! You have the prettier hen & chicks. I have the blue-green ones. I never could get ice plant to do well here. I have tons of hydrangeas: a lace top, a couple blue, 2 purple & 1 pink.
I did the food prompt today, but it you scroll past that to the next post I have garden pics up. My own Siberian iris and a neighbors Giant Agave.

My mom used to have hens and chicks. I haven't seen any in years! Your yard is gorgeous! I really like that Ice Plant. Never heard of it.

Sounds and looks gorgeous! I just love color. For the most part mine is all container gardening but my deck is always an oasis to me.
