SOOC Sunday

This Rose of Sharon came from my Dad's front yard, a few years before he died.  I moved it when I sold my house and married Dan.  It has lots of babies coming up, and really needs to be moved because it is encroaching the driveway...but I would hate to lose it!
Rose of Sharon (Althea), in my front garden

These were on the roadside - a large clump - and always make me smile.  They are such happy flowers!  Commonly called Black-eyed Susans, or Brown-eyed Susans, or a variety of other names...

Such lovely photographs . . . black eyed susans and daisies are my favorite flowers. I like the simple old fashion blooms. Thank you for sharing your wonderful talent. Connie :)

Beautiful flowers. The Rose of Sharon is such a pretty color, I hope that you are able to keep it. Maybe you can move part of it, or thin it out and not loose it. Do a little research for the best time and process to do so. I know you want to hold on to it and keep it thriving too. Good Luck!

My mother had her drive lined with Rose of Sharon and I always meant to get me one. She sold the house and moved to town and I never did.

Than two years ago I had one come up as a volunteer in a very bad spot but new instantly what it was and left it to grow. Birds must have dropped the seeds.

Last fall I finally transplanted it to the corner of my yard and was sure it would not make the move. It did and I just got my first blooms on it this week.

Lovely Linda!
My Rose of Sharon haven't even begun to bloom yet. I 'inherited' about eight bushes when we moved here. I love them and so do the resident deer so they suffer a little. :)

Glad to see a Rose of Sharon. I've been trying to grow them, but keep moving, and have to plant a new one.
Planted one here last year. It is slowly arising from winter's sleep. Love the 'susan's, too!
Beautiful time of year, isn't it?!
