Betty Boop

My DH is crazy about Betty Boop.  Frankly, I can't understand the fascination, but there it is!  Anyway, several years ago, I was at a  local garden center when I spied a knockout rose that I had to purchase.  It is a Betty Boop Rose!  Although I am not really a fan of knockouts (I know, they are more disease resistant, etc. than a lot of other roses), I bought it for Dan.

Betty was recently moved, and while she pouted just a little at being disrupted from her home, she perked up nicely after a trim and some loving care.

The really interesting thing about this rose is that there will be different color variations on the same bush - some white with red, some more yellow and some with orange...we never know what colors will show up!

I am linking to Floral Friday Fotos and SOOC.

We have a local 'antique' store with lots of Betty Boop artifacts. I don't get it, either!

I've been moving plants around, too. It' such a juggle to find the right spot for me and the plant!
Greetings from Cottage Country!

Beautiful. I am not a fan of roses. I find them hard to care for. But, my husband loves them. We had a large and half dead bush in front of our living room window when we bought this house. I had it removed when we had the yard landscaped. While watering the other day I noticed that it is actually coming back and has a new shoot about a foot high with a few buds. Those landscapers much not have gotten all of the root and that was two years ago. Guess that is my sign that we are meant to have roses under out window.

We have knockout roses all over town and I do like the colorful displayd that they make. I like the idea of one that can change colors. Perhaps, I will seek one out for hubby's upcoming birthday.

Such a beautiful rose! Love the variation of color on the same bush. I planted two knock-out variety a couple years ago. The blossoms are prolific and start in early spring lasting till winter. Glad your "Betty" is adjusting to her new home. :-) Happy Mother's Day!

I have a re and white rose could it be the same kind? I love roses, the look of them & the fragrance though some have little fragrance these days. Mr Lincoln is a nice fragrant one.
I have a climber that grows like crazy & blooms well, I am constantly trimming the spent blooms!

We had knockouts at my old house as well as traditional roses. While I agree, the knockouts are not as spectacular, they make for nice foliage and are easy to care for. The colors on these Betty Boops are really nice too!
